Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the death of Wendy Achumba, a nursing student whose body was found in her hostel room in Umulogho Community, Obowo Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo State.
Police said the 21 May discovery was made after neighbours became concerned when Achumba did not respond to knocks on her door.
Her body was later evacuated to a mortuary, and her mobile phone was reported missing.
The Imo State Police Command confirmed the arrests and said investigations were underway.

"Officers visited the scene after receiving reports of the killing. The victim’s body was evacuated to a mortuary while investigations commenced," said Henry Okoye, spokesperson for the command.
According to police, the suspects are being questioned over allegations of assault and unlawful killing.
Achumba, an indigene of Abia State, was a student at the College of Nursing in Umuadara village, Umulogho Community.
Sources at the college disclosed she had completed her midwifery programme and was undergoing post-basic training at the time of her death.
