The Oyo State Police Command has dismissed reports of a curfew or movement restrictions in Ibadan, saying there are no current security concerns in the city.
In a statement on 23 May, the Command said it had not placed any restrictions on the movement of people or vehicles within or outside Ibadan, contrary to rumours circulating online and in some quarters.
"There is currently no curfew or restriction placed on the movement of persons or vehicles within or outside Ibadan," the statement read.
The police assured residents that adequate security measures were in place, with officers strategically deployed across the state to maintain public safety.
They said there was no cause for panic or apprehension and also warned the public against spreading false information or unverified reports that could cause unnecessary fear.

It stressed that anyone found circulating such material would be investigated and prosecuted.
Residents were advised to disregard misleading reports and continue with lawful activities without fear.
The police said any official security directive would be communicated through the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) and shared via verified conventional and digital media channels.
Members of the public were urged to remain law-abiding, vigilant and cooperative with security agencies.
