Two Nollywood actresses, Uche Montana and Sonia Uche, have publicly denied allegations made by Senator Ned Nwoko, who claimed that some of Regina Daniels’ friends and family members sabotaged her rehabilitation process.
In a statement posted his Instagram account, the senator alleged that when Regina began therapy for substance dependence, doctors had advised strict restrictions on visitors, particularly those he described as “enablers.”
According to Nwoko, “Sammy, Destiny, some of their siblings, together with a few of their friends, notably Sonia Uche and Montana among others, constantly defied those instructions. They would come into the house uninvited, sometimes forcing their way in, and would bring her the same drugs she was being treated for. Instead of helping her recover, they encouraged her.”
However, both actresses have refuted any involvement in the matter.
Taking to Instagram, Uche Montana wrote:
“I wasn’t going to say anything, but I feel it’s important to clear the air.
My attention has been drawn to a circulating post that appears to link my name to certain claims.
For clarity, I have no involvement or connection to the situation described. This note is simply to set the record straight and protect my peace ♥️.”
Shortly after, Sonia Uche also posted a brief note on her verified page, saying:
“My name is Ihuoma Sonia Uche. Just to be clear.
This new week, remember... punctuations (,) matter.”
Neither Regina Daniels nor her estranged husband has issued a follow-up statement since the actresses’ denials.
The ongoing dispute between the Nollywood star and Senator Nwoko has continued to dominate public discourse, with new claims and counterclaims emerging almost daily across social media platforms.
