Regina Daniels Reveals Mother Warned Her Against Marriage to Ned Nwoko

Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Regina Daniels, has revealed that her mother, veteran actress Rita Daniels, had warned her against marrying Senator Ned Nwoko, but she went ahead with the union out of love.

In a candid video shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, Regina appealed to Nigerians to stop attacking her mother over her ongoing marital crisis, explaining that her decision to marry Nwoko was entirely her own.

"The main essence of this video is to please stop insulting my mom. She’s the best thing that ever happened to me. She’s been strong for seven years, holding it down despite all the insults. It’s me. I’m the one with the coconut head. I’m ashamed to say this, but I actually fell in love. Everyone said no, including my mom, but I didn’t listen," she said.

The actress also refuted claims that she married the politician for financial gain, insisting her family was not in financial distress at the time.

"Stop saying I got married out of greed. We were not broke. What money can a man possibly give a mother to hand over her child who practically provides for the family? My mom trained all her children through me," she said.

Regina further disclosed that the intense public scrutiny and pressure surrounding her marriage once drove her to the brink of suicide.

However, she added that she has found strength in her children and remains determined to keep fighting for them.
