An albino buffalo dubbed "Donald Trump" for its uncanny resemblance to the United States (US) president has been saved from slaughter after Bangladesh’s government intervened at the last minute.
The 750kg animal, with a distinctive blonde quiff and pinkish skin, became an internet sensation after photographs went viral.
It drew large crowds to a farm in Narayanganj, near Dhaka, where locals had nicknamed it after the Republican leader.
The buffalo had been sold for sacrifice during Eid al-Adha, but the home ministry halted the sale, citing security problems and the unusually high public interest.
Home Minister, Salahuddin Ahmed ordered the animal be spared, the buyer refunded, and the buffalo moved to a national zoo in Dhaka.

"At the last moment, the decision was taken to spare the buffalo from sacrifice due to security concerns and the unusual level of public interest," a ministry official said.
Owner Ziauddin Mridha said his younger brother gave the buffalo its nickname after noticing its hair.
"It is very calm in nature. Albino buffaloes are generally peaceful and do not become aggressive unless provoked," he told local media.
Visitors agreed the likeness was striking. "When I saw his pictures on Facebook, he looked exactly like Donald Trump. His facial structure and even hairstyle match that of Trump," one said.
Another added jokingly: "The buffalo is very calm and polite in nature, which definitely does not match with Donald Trump."
