Oyo Police Examine Video as Search for Kidnap Victims Continues

Oyo State Police Command said it has received a video circulating online in connection with a recent abduction in the state and is carrying out forensic analysis to verify its authenticity.

The footage is being examined to help investigators confirm its legitimacy and to support ongoing rescue efforts, the command said.

Police added that the review would also assist in identifying and arresting those behind the incident.

Authorities said operations involving intelligence and tactical units, working with other security agencies, are under way to secure the safe release of the victims.

The command reassured residents that restoring the abducted people to their families remains the priority.

"The command reassures residents of its unwavering commitment to ensuring the safe return and reunification of all abducted persons with their families," a statement said.

Police urged the public to remain calm and to share only credible, timely information with officers.

Residents were advised against circulating unverified videos or messages that could fuel panic, as such material is often exploited by criminal groups.

Anyone with information that could aid the investigation and rescue was asked to contact the nearest police station or security agency immediately.

The command reassured it would continue operations until normalcy is restored and those responsible are brought to justice.
