The Ballon d’Or ceremony will take place in London on 26 October, signifying the first time the award is held outside France in its 70-year history.
Organised by France Football in partnership with the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), this year’s event celebrates seven decades since the award was launched in 1956.
The location was chosen as a nod to Stanley Matthews, the English footballer who won the inaugural Ballon d’Or.
Holding the ceremony in the United Kingdom (UK) capital suggests the award’s growing international profile.

With the European season ending and the 2026 World Cup approaching, attention is already turning to who will succeed last year’s winners Aitana Bonmati and Ousmane Dembele.
"The winners of the two Ballon d'Or awards, in its 70th edition, will be revealed on 26 October at a ceremony that temporarily leaves Paris for London and England," the organisers said.
Details on the nominee shortlist and media accreditation are expected to be announced closer to the date.
