Nigeria returned to winning ways on Friday evening with a 2-1 victory over Iran in an international friendly staged in Antalya, Turkiye.
Goals from Simon Moses and Akor Adams ensured the Super Eagles claimed the spoils against their Middle Eastern opponents, despite a late scare.
The match, played at the home ground of Turkish Super Lig side Antalyaspor, began brightly for Nigeria.
Moses struck after just six minutes, cutting in from the left before firing past Alireza Beiranvand to hand the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winners an early lead.
Nigeria continued to press but were unable to extend their advantage before half-time.
Their persistence eventually paid off on 61 minutes when Adams, deputising for the injured Victor Osimhen, latched onto a clever pass from Ademola Lookman and finished calmly to double the lead.

Iran responded through Mehdi Taremi, who converted from close range following a scramble in the box.
However, the Asian side could not find an equaliser as Nigeria held firm to secure the win.
The fixture was Nigeria’s first outing since clinching bronze at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Head coach Chelle opted for a strong line-up, with Maduka Okoye starting in goal in place of Stanley Nwabali.
The Super Eagles will continue their campaign in the four-nation tournament with a clash against Jordan on Tuesday.
