Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved a wide-ranging redeployment of senior officers across key commands and departments in a move aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and leadership within the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
In a statement on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Placid, the police said the postings were designed to reinforce the command structure, improve service delivery and ensure strategic deployment of personnel nationwide.
Several Assistant Inspectors-General (AIGs) were reassigned to force headquarters departments and zonal commands.
AIG Ado Emmanuel moved to Research and Planning in Abuja, while AIG Joseph Eribo was posted to the Department of Armament.
AIG Miller Dantawaye now heads Operations, with AIG Henry Uche taking charge of Training and Development.
AIG Olanrewaju Ogunlowo was posted to Police Accounts and Budget, and AIG Dahiru Mohammed to Zone 15 in Maiduguri.
Further AIG postings include Dankombo Morris to Zone 4, Makurdi; Bello Shehu to Zone 14, Katsina; Ibrahim Maikaba to Legal Services; Ahmed Musa to Community Policing; Olohundare Jimoh to Zone 2, Lagos; Simeon Akpanudom to the FCID Annex, Lagos; and Haruna Olufemi to the Special Protection Unit at force headquarters.

At the Commissioner of Police (CP) level, Haruna Yahaya was posted to Jigawa State, while Betty Otimenyin moved to Welfare at force headquarters.
Olugbenga Abimbola took over Oyo State Command, Yemi Oyeniyi was deployed to Delta, and Olubode Ojajuni to Ogun.
Michael Falade was posted to Ekiti, Yakubu Dankaro to Adamawa, and Muhammed Ahmed to the Federal Capital Territory.
Olatunji Fatai assumed command in Lagos State, with further state postings covering Taraba, Zamfara, Katsina and Sokoto.
The reshuffle also affected specialist units and departments, including INTERPOL, the Special Protection Unit, the Force Criminal Investigation Department, the Police Academy and community policing formations across Abuja and Lagos.
According to the police, the IGP has directed all affected officers to apply their experience to their new roles and to uphold professionalism, discipline and public service standards.
