The Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna has adjourned the hearing of the bail application filed by former Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, until Wednesday.
RoundReports understands that the adjournment was confirmed by El-Rufai’s lead counsel, Ukpong Abang (SAN), who briefly addressed reporters after Tuesday’s proceedings.
“I’m sorry, I can’t talk now, we are in the middle of work. I have to go and file responses. The hearing of the bail application has been adjourned till tomorrow,” he said.
El-Rufai was escorted from the court premises by operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in a white Hilux vehicle.
His appearance came under heavy security, echoing the tight measures seen during his arraignment last week.
The former governor is facing a 10-count charge before Justice Rilwan M Aikawa, including allegations of conversion and possession of public property, alongside money laundering offences.

He was brought to court after spending more than a month in detention, a development that has drawn public attention.
The court had earlier scheduled 31 March 2026 for the hearing of pending applications, including his bail request.
However, El-Rufai was temporarily released on 27 March by the ICPC on compassionate grounds following the death of his mother, Hajiya Ummar El-Rufai, in Cairo, Egypt.
In a separate case, El-Rufai was arraigned earlier on Tuesday before a Kaduna State High Court in Kawo, where he faced distinct charges of abuse of office, fraud, and conferring undue advantage.
He was docked alongside Amadu Sule, with both matters also brought forward by the ICPC.
Following the State High Court session, the commission transferred El-Rufai to the Federal High Court within the same complex.
With Tuesday’s adjournment, the bail application hearing is now expected to continue on Wednesday.
