The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide will hold its National Elective Convention on Saturday, 11 July 2026.
IYC will elect members of its 10th National Executive Council (NEC), with delegates, stakeholders, elders and leaders expected to converge on Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The convention opens at 7:00 am at the newly built auditorium of the IYC National Secretariat, located beside Ijaw House on Sani Abacha Expressway, Yenagoa.
Subsequently, the main election will move to the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre in Ovom, where voting is scheduled to commence at 9:00 am.

The Electoral Committee described the convention as a defining moment for the Ijaw nation.
It called on members and well-wishers to attend as the organisation works to strengthen unity, deepen internal democracy and usher in new leadership.
The event is organised under the theme "Unity, Democracy, Progress, Ijaw Nation First."
It is being hosted by IYC Worldwide President Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr, with the Electoral Committee chaired by Dr Charles German Ikimi.
Ineifie Pereokosufa, Chairman of the IYC Central Zone, co-signed the invitation notice, while BlueJack Minasigha signed on behalf of the committee as its Public Relations Officer (PRO).
