PFIPC Scandal: Gbajabiamila's Signature, State House Letterhead Forged

PFIPC Scandal: Gbajabiamila's Signature, State House Letterhead Forged

The Presidency has revealed that the appointment letter at the centre of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) controversy bore a forged signature of Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila and a fake State House letterhead.

Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi made the disclosure on Saturday.

Ajayi pointed to a telling detail that he said exposed the forgery immediately.

"The State House Letterhead was forged. In fact, in our own Letterheads, we don't put phone numbers, those who forged the Letterheads put phone numbers," he said.

He also clarified that the Chief of Staff does not issue appointment letters under any circumstances, a fact he described as the first red flag that should have raised suspicion about the document's authenticity.

According to him, the Chief of Staff's role is limited to conveying presidential approvals to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, who then issues formal appointment letters through the proper channel.

The disclosure adds a new layer to the growing scandal surrounding the alleged fictitious agency.

Its claimed director-general, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew alleged that Gbajabiamila collected money to facilitate his appointment.

However, the Chief of Staff and the Presidency have firmly denied Matthew's claims.
