Abia State Governor Alex Otti has said a thanksgiving service held in Umuahia on Sunday 24 May 2026 marked a moment of reflection on his administration’s three years in office.

Speaking at the event centre by Okpara Square, Otti said the service was "a solemn moment of reflection on our collective journey and an opportunity to give glory to God for His unfailing and enduring faithfulness."

He thanked the people of Abia and those who had supported the administration, saying their trust and encouragement had been "the cornerstone of our progress."

Otti also acknowledged Brother Emma Okorie, President of Living Word Ministries International, and other clergy, saying their prayers had been a source of strength since his political journey began in 2014.

"I reminded all present that choosing to serve God, together with my household, has been the foundation of every success story we share," he said.

After the service, Otti said he proceeded to Umuagu Ibeku to flag off the construction of an Ecumenical Centre designed to seat 1,000 worshippers.

He said the property, acquired in 2009, was part of a personal covenant with God and stressed that the project was entirely private with no government funds involved.

The governor added that he later moved to Laguru in Ubakala, Umuahia South LGA, where he simultaneously flagged off the rehabilitation of the N1.3bn Ubakala Water Scheme, and the Ariaria Water Scheme in Aba.

He affirmed the projects were aimed at improving access to clean water for local communities.

"With God’s grace and the support of Ndị Abia, our journey toward a greater and more blessed Abia continues to advance," Otti said.
