A former Royal Antwerp forward has died in his hometown, the Belgian club has announced.
The player, who came through Southampton’s academy and later made senior appearances for Royal Antwerp, Southampton, and Czech side Dynamo ÄŒeské BudÄ›jovice, passed away on Monday night.
Antwerp said it received the news with deep dismay, recalling his 12 goals in 21 youth games and his first-team appearances during the 2023/24 season.
"Royal Antwerp FC has learned with great dismay of the passing of former player Victor Udoh (21).
"Victor arrived at the Bosuil in the 2023/2024 season, where in his first season with the Young Reds he scored 12 goals in 21 matches. That season he also made his official debut for the first team in the home match against Charleroi.

"In total, Victor made 28 official appearances for The Great Old and provided two assists, before moving to Southampton.
"Our thoughts are with Victor’s family, friends and loved ones. We wish them much strength, support and warmth during this especially difficult time.
"Rest in peace, Victor," Antwerp said.
Further reports insisted that he was on holiday at the time of his death.
There has been unconfirmed speculation about food or drink poisoning, but no official cause has been released by the family or authorities.
