Zendaya Breaks Silence on Viral AI Wedding Photos

United States (US) actress Zendaya has responded with amusement to a wave of AI-generated images that appeared to show her marrying Spider-Man co-star Tom Holland.

Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday night, the Euphoria star revealed that even close friends had been convinced by the fabricated pictures.

While I was just out and about in real life, people were like, ‘Oh my God, your wedding photos are gorgeous’. And I was like, ‘Babe, they’re AI. They’re not real’,” she said.

The actress declined to confirm whether she and Holland are married, joking instead: “Really? I haven’t seen any of them.”

The images, which circulated widely on X and Instagram earlier this month, showed the pair exchanging vows against a backdrop resembling Lake Como in Italy.

Some versions even featured fellow Marvel actors Robert Downey Jr, Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Jake Gyllenhaal as supposed guests.

Although one creator labelled the pictures as “artistic recreations,” many fans missed the disclaimer, fuelling speculation about the couple’s relationship.

Zendaya admitted that “many people” in her personal circle were fooled, with some upset they had not received an invitation.

Rumours of a secret wedding were further stoked when Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach suggested the nuptials had “already happened,” and when the actress was spotted wearing a gold band at Paris Fashion Week.

Zendaya and Holland first met in 2017 while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming.

They will reunite on screen this summer in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with Holland teasing a trailer release later this week.

Zendaya also stars in Dune 3, due for a trailer launch in the coming days, and the pair will appear together in Christopher Nolan’s forthcoming adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey.
