The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in Ogun State says it has yet to establish any evidence that Nigerian comedian and content creator Broda Shaggi was shot within the state.
Reports had circulated that the entertainer, whose real name is Samuel Perry, was hospitalised after allegedly sustaining a gunshot injury on Sunday while filming a skit beneath the Sango Otta Bridge, a busy transport corridor linking Ogun and Lagos states.
However, the circumstances surrounding the alleged shooting remain unclear.

The comedian was said to have been taken initially to a private hospital in Alakuko, Lagos State, before being referred to another medical facility in Ikeja for further treatment.
Reacting to the reports, the Ogun State Police Command said it could not confirm that the incident occurred within its jurisdiction.
The command’s spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, a deputy superintendent of police, said preliminary checks had not shown that the entertainer was shot in Ogun State.
“For the sake of clarity, the command cannot confirm that Broda Shaggi was shot anywhere within Ogun State,” Babaseyi said.
He added that an investigation had been opened to determine what happened, while advising the public to avoid spreading unverified information as enquiries continue.
