Nigeria’s First Lady to Preach at Lambeth Palace During UK State Visit


Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, is scheduled to preach at Lambeth Palace on Thursday, as part of activities surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to the United Kingdom (UK).

Lambeth Palace is the official London residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury and a key seat of the Church of England. 

According to the official itinerary released by Agence France-Presse (AFP), Oluremi Tinubu is also expected to hold meetings with senior representatives of the Church during the visit.

The trip is Nigeria’s first state visit to the UK in almost 40 years and is aimed at reinforcing diplomatic, economic and cultural ties between the two countries.

President Tinubu and his wife arrived in London on Tuesday, touching down at Stansted Airport ahead of a packed programme of formal engagements.

The state visit is expected to include talks with King Charles III and Prime Minister Keir Starmer, alongside meetings with members of the Nigerian diaspora in the United Kingdom.

Oluremi Tinubu, a long-standing Christian minister, is an ordained pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). 

In recent years, she has played a prominent role in faith-based outreach and women’s empowerment initiatives across Nigeria.
