Nigeria Suspends Visa Application Centres in US

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has suspended the operator of its visa application centres in the United States (US) with immediate effect.

NIS directed all applicants to submit their documents directly at Nigerian diplomatic missions.

In a public notice dated 9 July 2026, the service announced that Online Integrated Solution, known as OIS Services, which operated Nigeria's Visa Application Centres across the US, had its services suspended from 1 July 2026 until further notice.

Applicants seeking Nigerian visas in the US must now submit their applications in person at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington D.C., or at the Consulates General of Nigeria in New York and Atlanta.

The immigration service clarified that the suspension applies only to physical visa application submissions and does not affect the e-Visa system.

It added that applicants who qualify for the electronic visa route can continue to apply online at evisa.immigration.gov.ng.
