The Bayelsa State Government has commenced preparations for a major public health mobilisation ahead of the State Immunization Plus Days (IPDs) and Routine Immunization Intensification exercise, scheduled to take place from 18 to 21 October 2025.
At a recent one-day stakeholders’ meeting organised by the State Primary Health Care Board, health officials, community leaders, and representatives of religious institutions were briefed on their roles in driving awareness and participation across all eight local government areas.
The session focused on equipping stakeholders with key information to mobilise families and ensure that every eligible child receives life-saving vaccines against preventable diseases.

Participants were urged to utilise churches, mosques, traditional platforms, and community forums to disseminate accurate messages on immunisation.
Officials reiterated that the initiative aligns with the Assured Prosperity Administration’s commitment to strengthening the health system and safeguarding children’s wellbeing through improved vaccination coverage.
The government assured residents that adequate logistics and vaccine supplies will be in place, calling on parents and caregivers to present their children for vaccination during the exercise.
