Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), taking with him 23 members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
The development was announced on October 15, 2025, by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, who confirmed the governor’s decision to leave the PDP after years of membership.
