Nollywood actress and African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for Abia State, Doris Ogala, was admitted to the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia on Friday after collapsing during a medical consultation.
Footage shared on social media showed the actress being taken to the facility and later seated in a wheelchair while speaking with patients and staff.
She was said to have lost consciousness earlier in the day before being stabilised by doctors.
In a post on Instagram following treatment, Ogala confirmed the incident.
"I was rushed to FMC Umuahia. I lost consciousness. Glory to God I am stabilised now," she wrote, alongside a video of herself at the hospital.
The clip also showed her praying with other patients during the visit.
Ogala only recently emerged as the AAC’s flag bearer for the 2027 Abia governorship election, where she intends to challenge incumbent Governor Alex Otti.

Her campaign pitch has centred on people-focused policies, economic growth and job creation.
News of her hospitalisation has sparked mixed reactions online.
While some praised her for interacting with and praying for patients, others questioned the timing of the incident.
Given her acting background, several social media users described it as "drama" or a publicity stunt linked to her political ambitions.
A number also worried about her fitness for office and urged her to focus on recovery first.
The actress has not released further medical details, but said she was now stable following treatment at the Umuahia centre.
