Adeboye: God Will Decide Nigeria’s Next President in 2027

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, said on Saturday that Nigeria’s next president ahead of the 2027 general elections will be decided by God.

Speaking during a workers’ meeting at Redemption City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Adeboye said the outcome is beyond human effort alone.

"The next president has already been decided by God who owns the universe. It is not something we can determine by human effort alone. The will of God will be done," he said.

Adeboye told Nigerians not to panic over politics, saying that while people should play their part, they should also pray and trust God with the country’s future.

"I never said we should not be involved in politics, but we must understand that God has the final say in the affairs of men," he added.

The cleric also responded to activist Omoyele Sowore, who recently called him, Bishop David Oyedepo, and Pastor William Kumuyi "fathers of Christians in Nigeria."

Adeboye said that the description isn’t correct. "Sowore said that we are not the fathers of Christians but we are denominational fathers.

"He is very correct. I don’t want to be father of all Christians in Nigeria

"I’m satisfied with being the father of the Redeemed Christian Church of God," Adeboye said.

He clarified that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), led by its president, represents Christians nationally.

Adeboye also addressed claims online that RCCG is tied to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He rejected the claim and said the church has always spoken on issues affecting Nigerians, including the economy.

According to him, if CAN calls for a peaceful protest on governance issues, he would join, saying that the protested during the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

Adeboye stressed that politicians are welcome to attend services at the camp but won’t be allowed to use the altar for campaigns.
