Ijaw Traditional Rulers Resolve Dispute Among Musicians


Ijaw traditional rulers resolved a dispute involving Ijaw musicians during a peace meeting held in Warri on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

The meeting was convened at the office of His Royal Majesty, Elder (Capt.) Dr Joseph Timiyan (JP), the Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha Kingdom and Chairman of the Delta Ijaw Traditional Forum (Agbonu).

In attendance were King Perema Free (Numupere II), Chief Barrister S Smooth, King Pius Fizena, Captain Abel Igenisuobai, and Dr Alfred Izon-Ebi JKing, along with other stakeholders.

According to the statement from the meeting, the royal fathers engaged the parties in dialogue to address misunderstandings among the musicians. 

At the meeting, the traditional rulers urged all parties to embrace reconciliation and collaboration to advance Ijaw cultural heritage.

The royal fathers also appealed to fans and supporters of the musicians to maintain peace following the resolution.

All parties present affirmed commitment to moving forward in unity and upholding respect, cooperation, and cultural pride, the statement said.
