Renowned Nigerian singer Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, has announced that he and his wife, fellow musician Simi, have welcomed twin babies.
The announcement was made on Wednesday via Adekunle Gold’s Snapchat story, where he revealed the development without disclosing the gender of the newborns.
“Asked God for another child and He blessed me double,” the singer wrote.
The news prompted an outpouring of congratulatory messages from fans and colleagues across the entertainment industry, with many describing the couple as one of Nigerian music’s most admired partnerships.
Hints of the pregnancy had surfaced in December when Simi shared a short video on Instagram showing her baby bump.
She captioned the post, “From my baby, for my babies,” fuelling speculation that the couple were expecting another child.
The twins’ arrival also follows a recent Instagram post by Simi featuring a snippet from Adekunle Gold’s newly released music video, "My Love Is the Same," which further drew attention from fans.
Adekunle Gold and Simi married in 2019 after several years of friendship and musical collaboration.
Both artistes were formerly signed to X3M Music early in their careers and have since established themselves as leading figures in Nigeria’s contemporary music scene.
Their first child, Adejare Kosoko, popularly known as Deja, was born in May 2020.
