Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has publicly disclosed that she underwent a drug test, saying the decision was taken to address persistent rumours and to reassure those who support her, following months of intense scrutiny over her private life.
In an emotional post shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, the actress described the past few months as a period of severe personal strain that nearly overwhelmed her.
She said the experience marked a turning point, forcing deep self-reflection amid what she portrayed as relentless public judgment.
Daniels said she decided to take the test after repeated claims circulated online alleging she was abusing drugs, accusations she dismissed as unfounded and damaging.
According to her, the move was not merely about defending her reputation but about accountability and peace of mind.
She credited her resilience to the support she received from family, friends and members of the public, adding that their encouragement helped her withstand the pressure.
Daniels disclosed she chose to define her own narrative rather than be shaped by public opinion, describing the episode as one of growth and renewed purpose.
The actress also framed the period as a chapter of self-discovery, thanking God for strength and resilience, and suggesting an intention to move forward with greater clarity about her life and direction.
Her announcement comes against the backdrop of sustained public attention on her marriage to billionaire businessman and senator, Ned Nwoko, which has reportedly broken down into a bitter estrangement.
In recent months, the dispute has played out publicly, with Daniels accusing Nwoko of domestic abuse and alleging attempts to force her into rehabilitation, claims he has denied.
Nwoko, in turn, has alleged that the actress has struggled with substance use and said he arranged therapy after observing what he described as concerning behaviour.
Statements attributed to the senator’s camp have also claimed that medical and toxicology reports exist showing Daniels tested positive for drugs and alcohol at harmful levels, allegations she continues to dispute.
