Former President Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has been awarded an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science by Nile University, Abuja, during the institution’s 13th Convocation Ceremony.
Jonathan, who received the honour on Wednesday, thanked the university’s management for what he described as an important recognition of his public service and contributions to national development.
He encouraged the graduating class to apply their training responsibly and strive to drive positive change across society.
"I extend my sincere appreciation to the management of Nile University for conferring on me the Honorary Doctor of Philosophy (Political Science).
"I wish the university continued success in its mission to positively impact society through the provision of quality education," he said.
The former president urged students to uphold strong moral values and make meaningful use of their academic achievements in addressing Nigeria’s developmental challenges.
