Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, on Wednesday hosted the Assistant Comptroller General of Zone I, Nigeria Correctional Service, at Government House, Yenagoa.
RoundReports learnt that the was meeting focused on improving operational capacity and service delivery.
ACG Njoku Kingsley Akujobi, who represented the Comptroller General of the Service, was in the state on a familiarisation visit to review the activities of the Bayelsa Command under Zone I.
Speaking after the engagement, Senator Ewhrudjakpo said the discussions were both “enriching and timely,” offering an avenue for the government to restate its commitment under the ASSURED Prosperity Administration to support the Service in carrying out its mandate effectively.
He urged the Nigeria Correctional Service to continue adopting innovative practices that enhance efficiency and promote humane, modern correctional management across facilities nationwide.
The Deputy Governor also commended the Bayelsa Command, led by Comptroller Imo Ikahokhule, for what he described as a responsible and professional discharge of duties.
He stated that the Command had shown “commendable excellence” in its operations within the state.
