Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has formally taken up membership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday.
Atiku confirmed the development in a brief post on X, sharing a photograph of himself holding the party’s membership card alongside the caption, “It’s official.”
His decision comes months after he resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in July, following a lengthy period of internal disputes that left the opposition party fractured.
The ADC, which has positioned itself as a coalition-driven platform, is expected to play a more visible role as political alignments intensify in the coming year.
