Bayelsa Announces Competency Test for Senior Civil Servants

The Office of the Head of Service has announced a Competency-Based Test (CBT) for eligible Directors on Grade Levels 16 and 17 within Bayelsa State’s Mainstream Civil Service.

According to an official statement, the assessment aims to identify top-tier civil servants capable of driving the digitalisation of the state’s public service.

The initial computer-based test will take place today, Friday 21 November, at the ICT Hall of Bayelsa Medical University, Imgbi Road, Yenagoa, running from 9:00am to 2:00pm.

Candidates who pass this stage will sit a written examination on Saturday 22 November, from 9:00am to 4:00pm, at the Roof-Top Auditorium of the same university.

Dr Wisdom Ebiye Sawyer, Head of Service, urged candidates to come prepared with writing materials and reminded them that mobile phones, books, or any form of unauthorised aid are strictly prohibited within the examination halls.

The Head of Service upheld that the initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen competence and efficiency across Bayelsa State’s civil service.
