The Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State announced on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 that it has begun the screening exercise for candidates seeking admission into the 12th Regular Course.
According to the academy, the process officially kicked off on Monday, October 6, 2025, with all key stakeholders in attendance.
The Commandant of the Academy, AIG Patrick A. Atayero, MSc (UK), MBA (USA), psc, welcomed dignitaries from the Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
Among them were Hon. Justice Paul Adamu Galumje (Rtd), a former Justice of the Supreme Court representing the judiciary on the PSC, and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (Rtd), fdc, who represented the Nigeria Police Force and serves as Chairman of the PSC Standing Committee on Police Matters.
The visiting delegation was warmly received by senior officers of the Academy before taking a tour of the screening centres. They revealed their satisfaction with the organisation and commended the officers for maintaining professionalism and transparency in the exercise.
They also urged the officials to remain firm, fair, and diligent, ensuring that only qualified candidates are selected purely on merit.
Furthermore, the Commandant, AIG Atayero, reaffirmed the Academy’s commitment to integrity and excellence in police training, adding that the screening process reflects the institution’s dedication to producing disciplined officers ready to serve the nation.
