Osimhen Scores Twice as Galatasaray Beat Bodø/Glimt 3–1

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen continued his dazzling run of form on Wednesday night, scoring twice to lead Galatasaray to a 3–1 victory over Norway’s Bodø/Glimt in a UEFA Champions League group-stage encounter at Rams Park, Istanbul.

The Super Eagles forward wasted no time announcing his presence, finding the net just three minutes into the contest with a precise right-footed strike that sailed past goalkeeper Mario Lemina into the bottom corner.

Osimhen doubled Galatasaray’s advantage half an hour later, capitalising on a costly defensive blunder by Fredrik Bjørkan to slot home his second goal of the night and send the home fans into raptures.

The Turkish champions maintained control throughout the first half, and shortly after the restart, Yunus Akgün extended the lead to 3–0 in the 60th minute.

Bodø/Glimt managed a consolation goal through Andreas Helmersen in the 74th minute, but it did little to alter the outcome.

Wednesday’s performance adds to Osimhen’s rich vein of form, coming just days after his hat-trick for Nigeria in their 4–0 thrashing of Benin Republic during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Meanwhile, in another Champions League fixture on Tuesday, Barcelona returned to winning ways with a dominant 6–1 triumph over Olympiacos.

Fermin Lopez netted a hat-trick, while Marcus Rashford struck twice to seal a confidence-boosting result for Hansi Flick’s side.

Teenage sensation Lamine Yamal also got on the scoresheet for the Catalan giants, who were without key players including Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha.

Despite Ayoub El Kaabi pulling one back from the spot for Olympiacos, Santiago Hezze’s red card left the Greek champions exposed, allowing Barca to climb provisionally to third place in their group.
