The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Education, Dr Gentle E Emelah, has commended former member of the House of Representatives, Hon Preye Influence Oseke, for facilitating the construction of the Petroleum Development Trust Fund (PTDF) Technology Centre in Ogboinbiri, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.
Dr Emelah, who visited the project site on Wednesday morning, described the centre as a "remarkable educational edifice" that aligns with Governor Douye Diri’s vision of promoting innovation and technical education across the state under the ASSURED Agenda.
He stated that the federal government-sponsored project, which is nearing completion, reflects the importance of partnerships between different levels of government in achieving sustainable development.
According to the Commissioner, the PTDF Technology Centre will be handed over to the Bayelsa State Ministry of Education upon completion to commence operations.
He further reiterated the state government’s commitment to improving education through collaboration with federal agencies and private partners.
"Bayelsa State is in dire need of rapid development, and as a government, we cannot do it all alone due to scarce resources. We will continue to welcome partners from all sectors to fast-track the development of our dear state," Dr Emelah said.
"This morning, I visited Ogboinbiri Community, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area Bayelsa State to inspect the Petroleum Development Trust Fund (PTDF) Technology Centre Ogboinbiri.
"The educational edifice which is near completion is a federal government educational project in Bayelsa State attracted by Hon. Preye Influence Oseke, former Member Federal House of Representatives.
"I commeded Hon. Oseke for the remarkable project which is inline with the educational vision of His Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri to diversify Education towards innovation and technology as captured in the ASSURED Agenda birthing technical schools across all local governments.
"I commended the former congressman for carrying the state along from the inception of the project till completion stage.
"The PTDF Technology Center Ogboinbiri will be handed over to the State Ministry of Education upon completion to take off.
"Bayelsa State is in dire need of rapid development and as a State Government, we can not do it all alone due to scarce resources hence we are always ready to welcome partners from all sectors to work collaboratively to fasttrack the development of our dear State.
