No Contact from Gunmen 24 Hours after Abduction of Ex-Minister’s Sister, Twin Sons

Gunmen who kidnapped the sister of former Minister of Power Chief Adebayo Adelabu have made no contact and issued no ransom demand more than 24 hours after the attack in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Femi Awogboro, aide to the former minister and 2027 Oyo governorship hopeful, said the family remains in distress as silence from the abductors continues.

"The family has not heard anything from the abductors since yesterday. No contact, no demand has been made so far," Awogboro told reporters.

Mrs Olayide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, 43, and her 12-year-old twin sons Peter and Paul were seized by armed men while driving the children to school in Ibadan.

Awogboro said security agencies have stepped up operations to trace the victims and secure their release.

He urged residents to stay calm but vigilant while investigations continue.

The family, he added, is holding on to hope that the three will be returned unharmed despite the lack of communication from the kidnappers.
