Tinubu to Visit France, Kenya, Rwanda for Africa-France Summit

President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday, 2 May 2026, for visits to France, Kenya, and Rwanda to attend economic summits, the Presidency said Thursday.

The trip begins in France before proceeding to Nairobi for Africa-France Summit scheduled for 11–12 May.

Co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, the summit will focus on energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, and climate action under the theme "Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth."

A State House press release by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga said Tinubu’s attendance would show Nigeria’s commitment to partnerships with African nations and France.

From Kenya, Tinubu will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, for Africa CEO Forum on 14–15 May.

Organised in partnership with International Finance Corporation, the forum will bring together over 2,000 executives to discuss economic transformation, regional integration, and cross-border investment under the theme "Scale or Fail."

Onanuga said Tinubu will deliver statements at both events on administration reforms, and will hold meetings with business leaders.

The president will be accompanied by select ministers and senior aides, and will return to Nigeria after the Rwanda event, according to the statement.
