President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday met with stakeholders from Plateau State at the State House, Abuja, to discuss solutions to recurring security challenges in the state.
The meeting was attended by a 32-man delegation led by Governor Caleb Mutfwang.
It included former governors Senator Simon Lalong, Senator Jonah Jang, Chief Joshua Dariye, and Sir Fidelis Tapgun, as well as traditional rulers, religious leaders, and youth representatives.
Tinubu urged leaders to review previous government White Papers on security issues in Plateau and propose implementable resolutions for consideration.
“Let us first of all accept one resolution – tolerance for every inhabitant,” the President said.
Speakers at the meeting identified issues including indigeneship, religion, ethnicity, and farmer-herder relations as factors in past conflicts.
They pledged to work toward lasting peace with governor Caleb Mutfwang describing the gathering as a sign of “renewed spirit” in the state.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Mohammed Dorro, announced that President Tinubu approved N2 billion in relief support for victims of the March 29 incident in Angwa Rukuban, Jos North LGA.

President Tinubu stressed the need for leaders to foster tolerance and integration.
“We all must find a way to accommodate one another,” he said.
He encouraged the state government to convene leadership meetings, review past recommendations, and implement agreed White Papers.
Tinubu also assured the delegation of the Federal Government’s commitment to infrastructural development in Plateau State and urged the state government to ensure justice and fairness for all residents.
The Gbong Gwon Jos, HRM Da Jacob Gyang Buba, commended the President for his efforts and requested additional security support.
Buba also thanked the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for providing relief materials to affected communities.
Mutfwang stated that the meeting was the first time all former governors of the state attended such a discussion together.
“We are determined more than ever to close all our gaps and build a state we can all be proud of,” he said.
Representatives of Christian and Muslim youth groups also made known their resolve to work together to support peace efforts in the state.
The delegation included APC National Chairman Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, Emir of Wase HRM Mohammed Haruna, CAN Chairman Rev Dr Dunka Gomwalk, former Minister Dame Pauline Tallen, and Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly Rt Hon Naanlong Gapyil Daniel, among others.
