Man Questions MTN Over 150GB Data Use in Six Days

A Nigerian customer visited an MTN office to raise concerns after his N30,000 Silver plan data was exhausted within six days.

The plan includes 150GB of high-speed data before speeds are reduced to 2GB daily.

According to a video circulating online, MTN staff showed the customer usage logs.

The customer questioned the usage and said he would share his experience online.

The incident has drawn reactions on social media, with some users sharing similar experiences regarding data consumption on high-speed plans.

Many comments called for clearer explanations of how “unlimited” or high-capacity data plans work, especially regarding speed throttling and app data usage.

Telecom companies in Nigeria have faced customer questions in recent months over data depletion rates.

Factors that can affect data use include video streaming, automatic app updates, cloud backups, and hotspot sharing.

MTN has not issued a public statement on this specific incident as of press time.

The company’s website states that its Silver plan provides 150GB, after which customers continue to browse at reduced speeds.
