Delta Unifiers Cup Organisers, Foreign Scouts Hail Tantita’s Grassroots Football Drive

Organisers of the Delta Senators Unifiers Cup, accompanied by international football scouts, have paid an appreciation visit to Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited at its corporate headquarters, praising the company’s investment in grassroots sports development.

The delegation was led by former Super Eagles international Onoriode Omagufi, popularly known as “Gold,” and included representatives of 3D Global Limited, alongside scouts from the Netherlands, Belgium and Slovenia.

They commended Tantita’s sponsorship of the tournament, saying that the competition has evolved beyond football to serve as a platform for talent discovery, youth empowerment and international exposure for young players in Delta State.

Coach Jonathan Endurance of VC Herentals, Belgium, described the tournament as a critical link between grassroots football and the global stage.

Endurance asserted the initiative was helping to redirect young people away from pipeline vandalism, oil theft and illegal bunkering by offering legitimate opportunities through sport.

Speaking on behalf of Tantita’s management, Emmanuel Akpule, Personal Secretary to the General Manager of Operations, said the company had prioritised inclusivity by working closely with the Delta State Football Association and local government chairmen.

According to Akpule, the aim was to ensure participation from rural and riverine communities and promote unity through fair representation.

A Dutch-based scout, Juoko Gorissen, advised that the organisers expand the tournament’s branding to attract wider corporate and institutional support.

Echoing the company’s long-term vision, Tantita’s Administrative Manager, Daisy Jaja, suggested renaming the competition the “Delta Unifiers Cup” and extending future editions to other states across the Niger Delta.

Also speaking, Okafor Kingsley, a VC Herentals player and licensed scout, hailed Tantita’s commitment to youth development through sports, stressing that such investments deliver broader social and economic benefits.

The Delta Unifiers Cup, which has gained momentum since its kick-off on April 17, 2026, is increasingly attracting international attention.
