Wike, Soldier Clash: Minister Told to Tread Carefully

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has advised Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to exercise caution in dealings with military personnel following a heated incident in Abuja.

The warning comes after a viral video surfaced online showing Wike in a tense confrontation with an unidentified military officer at Gaduwa District over a disputed parcel of land allegedly linked to a former Chief of Naval Staff.

In the footage, Wike challenges the officer’s authority over the property, insisting that public land should not be appropriated under the guise of official connections.

The officer, dressed in camouflage, countered that the land acquisition complied with due process.

The disagreement escalated as Wike ordered the officer to remain silent, drawing attention across social media platforms.

Commenting on the incident on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Shehu Sani praised Wike for his efforts in maintaining order in the FCT but warned against direct confrontations with soldiers.

"Wike is doing an excellent job in Abuja but should not be encouraged to do this kind of stunt with soldiers," he wrote.
