Tinubu Congratulates Goodluck Jonathan at 68

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former President Goodluck Jonathan on his 68th birthday, describing him as a statesman whose actions continue to shape Nigeria’s democratic evolution.

In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu joined Jonathan’s family, friends and political associates in marking the occasion.

The President commended the former leader’s “simplicity and humility,” citing his conduct during the 2015 presidential election as a defining moment that bolstered Nigeria’s democratic reputation.

Tinubu also reflected on their political history, acknowledging what he described as earlier support and counsel that contributed to Jonathan’s rise to national leadership in 2010 and ahead of the 2011 election.

According to the statement, Tinubu said Jonathan’s continued engagement in international diplomacy, particularly in promoting democratic norms across Africa, remains an inspiration to emerging leaders.

The President wished Jonathan, his wife, Patience, and their family continued good health and well-being.
