Reality TV star and entrepreneur, Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has pressed on with her Guinness World Record (GWR) attempt for the most makeovers done in 24 hours, despite early technical setbacks at the John Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture & History in Lagos.
The challenge, which is part of her ongoing Tacha Beauty Festival, experienced brief interruptions when two power outages occurred less than an hour into the event.
Although the venue was not entirely plunged into darkness, lighting in the makeup area was affected, sparking initial concern among organisers and spectators.
To stabilise the environment, camera and LED lights were quickly deployed, allowing visibility to be maintained.
Importantly, the official timer continued uninterrupted, reportedly powered by an independent source, ensuring the integrity of the ongoing attempt.
Undeterred by the disruption, Tacha remained composed and focused, working steadily through her lineup of 150 models.
According to reports, she employed a fast, minimal-detail technique, avoiding elaborate contouring to maintain speed without compromising polish.
Models who had completed their sessions proceeded to a photography booth, where their headshots were displayed before they took to the runway, showcasing a wide range of body types, from petite to plus-size, each reflecting Tacha’s evolving artistry under pressure.
Within the first hour, she had reportedly completed around 15 makeovers, prompting observers to suggest she could reach her 150-model target well before the 24-hour deadline, should she sustain her current momentum.
The record attempt is expected to conclude on Sunday, after which official documentation will be submitted to Guinness World Records for verification.
