Damina Addresses Trump’s Comments on Entering Heaven

Pastor Abel Damina, founder of Kingdom Life Network and Abel Damina Ministries International, has addressed recent remarks by former United States (US) President Donald Trump regarding his prospects of reaching heaven.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on 12 October 2025, Trump reportedly said, "I don’t think there’s anything that will get me into heaven. I think maybe I am not heaven-bound." The statement quickly drew attention in both religious and political circles worldwide.

In response, Pastor Damina posted a 14-minute video on his X account on Friday, 24 October 2025, offering a theological perspective on salvation.

"This message is primarily for the 45th and 47th President of the United States of America, President Donald Trump," he began, revealing that no human effort can secure a place in heaven.

"The death of a sinner has no eternal value; it will take a sinless one to redeem the sinner, and no man is sinless," Damina explained.

He cited scripture to explain his point, insisting that earthly wealth, resources, or good deeds are insufficient for redemption.

"God looked at the oil wells of the Niger Delta, the gold mines of Ghana, the rare minerals of America, and the diamond mines of Congo—they couldn’t pay for man. But God loves man, so He became a man in Jesus to die on man’s behalf," he said.

Pastor Damina stressed that salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ. "All that is required is belief in the one-time eternal sacrifice of Jesus—His death, burial, and resurrection. Once you believe, your sins are forgiven, and you are no longer under condemnation," he said.

He added that faith, rather than human effort or moral deeds, is central to redemption.

The cleric concluded by buttressing the transformative aspect of accepting Christ: "From that moment, the Holy Spirit dwells within you, your sins are forgiven, and you experience the liberty and assurance of salvation."

Trump, who has publicly identified as a Presbyterian, has occasionally discussed his Christian faith, but his recent comments, many believed, were a rare reflection on his personal salvation.
