Ben Murray-Bruce Quits PDP for APC

Former Bayelsa East Senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), citing national progress rather than political ambition as his motivation.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the business mogul praised President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as a visionary whose reforms, though initially challenging, will pave the way for Nigeria’s long-term prosperity.

"I have known President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu since 1998. I know the man’s mind, his courage, and his conviction. He is not driven by applause, he is driven by results," Murray-Bruce said.

The former lawmaker cited several achievements under the APC administration, including economic stabilisation, deregulation of the fuel sector, infrastructural developments, and a restructured national security framework.

He described these measures as foundational steps toward a free-market economy that rewards hard work and innovation.

Murray-Bruce acknowledged the temporary difficulties Nigerians face due to ongoing reforms but insisted that the sacrifices would yield tangible benefits.

"The painful reforms we face today are the very foundation of tomorrow’s prosperity," he said.

He also stressed the impact of Tinubu’s leadership on foreign policy, investor confidence, and public infrastructure, arguing that the nation is witnessing a transformation in governance and economic management.
