Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Sunday received a delegation from the Aleibiri federated communities in Ekeremor Local Government Area, who visited to note their appreciation for ongoing projects in their area.
The group, led by the Paramount Ruler, His Royal Highness Dr James Sarakri, thanked the administration for the proper siting of the Bayelsa State Polytechnic, road works, a pavilion and other infrastructure and empowerment initiatives.
Governor Diri, who hosted them at his country home in Sampou, acknowledged their support during the 2023 governorship election and assured that his government would continue to pursue inclusive development across the state.
"In the 2023 governorship election, the people of Aleibiri gave me their full support, knowing well that I'm their son, and I thank them greatly.
"Irrespective of the political parties we belong to, we should all work for the development of our communities, and for us as a government, that is what we will continue to do,"he said.
The delegation included former Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Peremobowei Ebebi, and Hon Tare Porri, member representing Ekeremor Constituency I in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, alongside other community leaders.
