Marcelo Lombardi, 45, reportedly fell ill after drinking vodka at home and died on September 27.
Lombardi's family said he woke up the next morning unable to see and was later informed at the hospital that he had been poisoned.

Health officials have since warned that toxic, illicitly produced liquor has entered the consumer market.
Methanol, a chemical used in antifreeze and industrial applications, is highly dangerous. Consuming even small amounts can cause blindness or death, officials insisted.
Federal investigators suspect that counterfeit alcohol producers may have used methanol as a cheaper substitute for ethanol.
One gas station in São Paulo has been linked to multiple cases, and police are exploring whether industrial methanol was illegally diverted from fuel or laboratory supply chains.
Authorities have seized hundreds of thousands of fake labels and suspect a widespread black-market operation supplying contaminated liquor across six states.
