Sir Alex Ferguson has been taken to hospital after feeling unwell at Old Trafford ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Liverpool.
According to reports, the former United manager was conscious and undergoing precautionary medical checks.
No further details about his condition were immediately disclosed.
The 84-year-old, who remains a regular presence at matches home and away, was at the stadium before kick-off and was earlier pictured on social media inside Old Trafford.
Ferguson managed Manchester United for nearly 27 years before retiring in 2013.

Appointed in 1986, he oversaw around 1,500 matches, delivering an era of sustained success that included 13 Premier League titles.
And, with five FA Cups, two Champions League trophies, he later served as a club ambassador until 2025.
In May 2018, Ferguson underwent emergency surgery for a brain haemorrhage after falling ill at home.
He later made a public return to Old Trafford, receiving a standing ovation from supporters in September that year.
Despite the pre-match outcome, United went on to beat Liverpool 3-2 on Sunday night.
