The Senate has confirmed Joseph Tegbe as Minister of Power, and Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, following their nomination by President Bola Tinubu.
Recall that Tinubu's request was contained in a letter read on the Senate floor on Tuesday, 5 May 2026 by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Both nominees were screened in line with constitutional provisions before receiving approval.
Tegbe's nomination came after the resignation of former Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu, who stepped down to pursue an elective position.
The Oyo State-born economist is a fiscal and economic reform specialist with more than 35 years' experience in the public and private sectors.

He previously served as Senior Partner and Head of Advisory Services at Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (KPMG) Africa, where he led initiatives in fiscal policy reform, institutional transformation and governance.
Enikanolaiye, from Kogi State, was appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs following the elevation of Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu to the role of Foreign Affairs Minister.
Until his nomination, he served as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations.
A career diplomat, Enikanolaiye has more than three decades of service in Nigeria’s foreign service, including roles as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
His diplomatic postings have included Addis Ababa, Belgrade, Ottawa, London and New Delhi.
