CDS Urges Southern Kaduna Troops to Intensify Fight Against Insecurity

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen Olufemi Oluyede has told troops of the 2 National Mission Force Brigade to redouble efforts to end terrorism, kidnapping, cattle rustling and other crimes in Southern Kaduna.

Oluyede made the call during an operational visit to the brigade’s base in Samaru Kataf, Kaduna State.

He said the visit was to assess the unit’s combat readiness and identify challenges so they can be addressed quickly.

The brigade was set up in 2024 to tackle the security threats that were widespread in the area before its deployment.

Addressing soldiers, the CDS said he was satisfied with their alertness and professional conduct and urged them to stay committed, disciplined and proactive.

"You must keep out-witting criminals by anticipating their actions and evolving effective counter measures.

"We will continue to support you with the necessary equipment, enablers, platforms and pay due attention to your welfare that will ensure your success," he said.

He added that the unit’s operations had disrupted criminal movements and improved security in the area.

He directed that missing or inadequate operational equipment and platforms be provided to the brigade.
