The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the third and final phase of the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) will begin on Monday, 11 May 2026.
According to INEC, the exercise, which will run until Friday, 10 July 2026, is aimed at registering eligible Nigerians who have turned 18 and those who missed earlier phases.
It will also allow registered voters to transfer their registration, replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), or correct personal details.
INEC said the second phase of the CVR was suspended on 17 April 2026 to enable the Commission to clean up the register following its publication for claims and objections.

The final phase will be conducted both online via the Commission’s portal at http://cvr.inecnigeria.org and in person at INEC offices across all states and local government areas.
After the registration period closes, INEC will display the Register of Voters for public scrutiny from Thursday, 23 July to Wednesday, 29 July 2026.
The Commission said this statutory process would give citizens the opportunity to review the register and help ensure its accuracy and credibility ahead of future elections.
INEC reassured Nigerians that all arrangements for the smooth conduct of the exercise have been concluded and urged eligible citizens to take part.
