“No transformation can be achieved without sacrifice,” President Bola Tinubu has told Nigerians, urging citizens to remain steadfast in their support for ongoing reforms despite the immediate pressures they impose.
In his Easter message to Nigerians at home and abroad on Friday, Tinubu said the administration’s reform programme, though demanding in the short term, was carefully designed to deliver long-term, shared prosperity.
Drawing on the spiritual meaning of Easter, he mentioned resilience, sacrifice and triumph over adversity as principles essential to both faith and nation-building.
Tinubu recalled history showed that enduring progress was often forged during periods of difficulty, arguing that the current phase of reforms should be seen in that context.
He acknowledged the country’s continued security and economic challenges, praising the Armed Forces for their efforts against terrorists and bandits.
The President assured Nigerians that his government was strengthening resourcing and expanding international partnerships to achieve more decisive results.

Tinubu also called for unity, civic responsibility and peaceful participation as Nigeria approaches another electoral cycle, saying democracy thrives when citizens act with restraint and informed engagement.
Despite the strain on households, he maintained that emerging economic indicators suggested the country was on the right path.
He believed the Easter season offered reassurance that a turnaround was possible.
The president concluded by thanking Nigerians for their trust and support, urging them to continue contributing to the nation’s progress towards a more secure, prosperous and democratic future.
“Easter encourages us that even as present conditions put pressure on many, economic indicators show that we are making the right choices. A new dawn is on the horizon,” he said.
