Nollywood's Funke Akindele has hit back at claims that she ignored Fuji musician Wasiu Pasuma at a recent public event, describing the allegation as misleading.
The claim followed a short video shared on X by a user, @UOladiti, which suggested that Akindele had deliberately avoided greeting Pasuma.
It showed the actress exchanging greetings with fellow actress Fathia Balogun at her birthday celebration while Pasuma was seated nearby.
Responding on X on Sunday, Akindele rejected the narrative, stating that the edited video did not reflect the full sequence of events.
She explained that she had acknowledged Pasuma, greeted him, and danced with him during the occasion.
In the brief clip that circulated widely, Pasuma appeared seated at a table, looking at his phone as guests moved around the venue.

The video carried a caption alleging that Akindele had "stylishly snubbed" the Fuji star.
However, a longer version of the footage later shared online showed Akindele exchanging pleasantries with Pasuma before moving on to greet other guests.
Several fans of the actress reposted the extended clip, arguing that the shorter video had been selectively edited to create a false impression.
The event was held in honour of Balogun and was attended by other guests, including TikTok personality Ashabi Olose.
Akindele’s response comes weeks after another video, from the premiere of The Return of Arinzo, sparked online discussion about her interaction with actress Toyin Abraham.
Addressing the latest claim, the filmmaker maintained that the allegation involving Pasuma was untrue and urged social media users to avoid spreading negative or misleading narratives.
"Snub? Hell no. Stop the negativity pls. I saw him, greeted him, danced with him. Pasuma is my egbon. Pls you all should stop this evil," she said.
